And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.

1 Samuel (17:40) KJV

Stacked brown stones on a rock in a flowing river with a forested mountainous background and mist rising from the water.

Founder & Owner | 5 Stones Wealth Management

Jake Richards is the Founder and Owner of 5 Stones Wealth Management, a Coeur d'Alene, Idaho-based financial planning practice built on integrity, transparency, and a genuine commitment to putting people first.

A Purdue University graduate, Jake began his career in financial services, developing a strong foundation in investment strategies and financial planning. He later operated a financial services franchise in the Seattle area, helping individuals and families navigate complex retirement and wealth management decisions. His financial insights have been featured in Kiplinger, and he has appeared on Good Morning Seattle to share financial guidance with a broader audience.

Throughout his career, Jake developed a guiding conviction: Financial advice should always begin with the person, not the product. Driven by his Christian faith and a desire to serve families with a higher standard of integrity, he founded 5 Stones Wealth Management to bring that conviction to life.

The firm's name is inspired by the biblical story of David and Goliath. Just as David approached his giant with five stones, Jake believes families deserve thoughtful preparation, sound guidance, and a coordinated strategy to face the financial giants of retirement.

Outside the office, Jake enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, discovering new coffee shops, and serving in his local church.

For Jake, wealth management isn't simply about managing money. It's about caring for the people and purposes behind it.
